Mbuna Tank - 500 Liters (130 gallons)

January 2001. This is a shot with the flash unit placed on the tank glass cover. It shows the texture of the rocks and plants and the feel of security necessary for the overactive mbuna. Plants: Hygrophila corymbosa (back) Cryptocorine sp. (front). Fish: Haplochromis nyererei male (top), Labidochromis caeruleus male (middle left), Cynotilapia mbamba sub adulat (middle right)

January 2001. Same technique as above. The slightly overstocked mbuna tank seems almost empty. The caves and crevices offer the fish too many hiding spots. A lonely Haplochromis nyererei female (front, bottom) is probably wondering where did everybody go.
