Natural habitat: Upper Amazonas River basin, Perù
Water parameters: pH: 6,0 – 8,0, GH: 2,0 – 25,0, Temperature: 20° C - 25° C
Food: benthic organisms and plant matter. Original scavengers.
General info: Coarse gravel or lava and relevant jagged substrata are completely inadequate to keep the species. You need fine quartz gravel or sand to keep their barbells unharmed. They use to swim all over the water column in relatively shallow tanks.
Breeding: They spawn the same way as other Corydoras species. The females are more rounded and heavier than males. Live and frozen foods are essential if one desires to breed the species.
