A pair of Thorichthys meeki (Firemouth cichlids) from South America. These fishes belong to Francesco and they have now produced their first fry. It is definitely a pity that only 8 juveniles survived out of 100 eggs. - Francesco Zezza

A view of our living room with the two main tanks, the 1.300 liter non-mbuna tank (front) and the 500 liter mbuna tank (right). Below the mbuna tank lies a 25 liter fry raising / emergency tank. Above this tank the air conditioning unit is visible (24.000 BTU) which is used (among others) to keep the water temperature below 30 degrees during summer. - George Reclos

A view of the planted 500 liter tank as it looked two years ago (early 1997). At that time there were no mbuna in that tank. Some yellow tiger barbs are visible in the middle of this photo as well as a normal tiger barb and a female Firemouth. - George Reclos
